Hamptonville Mrs. Mary Lee Simcox Elledge, 80, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Elledge was born June 14, 1931 in Yadkin County to Clarence and Blanche Buxton Simcox. She was a member of Branon Friends Meeting. Mrs. Elledge enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and she loved to cook. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elledge was preceded in death by two husbands, Victor Alvin Elledge and Robert Glenn Hatcher; and a sister, Betty Simcox. She is survived by four children, Michael (Judy) Simcox, Dale (Shirley) Hatcher, Wanda (Donnie) Martin, and Lynn (Mark) Newman; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Gene) Brooks, Jody (Shea) Hatcher, Terri (Jonathan) Prevette, Mickey (Melissa) Martin, Amanda (Doug) Yarboro, Chasey (Chris) Messick, and Jason Newman; four great grandchildren, Sylvia and Emily Prevette and Sedessa and Sarika Hatcher; one brother, James Simcox; one aunt, Short Palmer; two special nephews, James Simcox, Jr. and Clarence Delane Simcox; and one niece, Amber Dickerson. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 2:00 at Branon Friends Meeting with Rev. Joe Reece officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd. Dobson, NC 27017.
