Katherine Lyon Bray

Bray Jonesville- My cherished mother Katherine Lyon Bray, 80, is now with Christ and her beloved family. She passed away Monday April 30, 2012 I in Yadkin County. Mrs. Bray was born February 14, 1932 in Surry County to the late Charles Montgomery & Maude Adkins Lyon. Her special ministry was to send a dozen or more cards per month for birthdays, deaths, and special occasions. She was self employed as an Accountant for 62 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dan R. Bray, Sr.; four brothers Cecil Lyon, Charles "Buck" Lyon, James "Ted" Lyon and Edsel Lyon; a sister Martha Pauline L. Billings. Surviving is her son Dan R. Bray, Jr. of Swan Creek; two nieces Kay Lyon, Wilkesboro; Deanna Thompson, Richmond, VA; a nephew Barry Lyon, Powhatan, VA; two exceptional Godchildren Danielle Hicks, Banner Elk; Carl Hicks, Banner Elk; special friends Mr. & Mrs. Carlos Hicks, Banner Elk. Her funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 PM Thursday May 3, 2012 at Calvary Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Hagan McCllelan of Winston-Salem. Burial will follow at Swan Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
