J. Ray Hutchens

Mr. J. Ray Hutchens, 86, of hutch Road passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 27, 1926 in Yadkin County to the late Cleve and Ida Hutchens. Mr. Hutchens worked his life as a carpenter, farmer, and enjoyed going fishing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 5 sisters and 5 brothers. Surviving are his beloved wife, Lois Dixon Hutchens, of the home; 3 children, James "Jim" (Glenda) Hutchens, Walnut Cove, Larry (Hilda) Hutchens, Shirley Hardy, all of Yadkinville; 7 grandchildren, Jamie (Kim) hutchens, Gary (Tonya) Hutchens, Jennifer (Matt) Collins, Melissa Hutchens, Marla Hutchens, Jonathan (Tangee) Hutchens, Stephanie Hayes; Great-grandchildren, Ryan Hutchens, Brody hutchens, Derrick Warden, Nicholas Bell, Mandy Doby, Brandy Doby, Courtney Doby, Cody Bennett, Luke Hutchens, Logan Hutchens, Lexie Hutchens; great-great-grandchildren, Alexis, Daphne, Hannah; and a brother, Harvey (Goldie) Hutchens, Yadkinville. His funeral service was held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Gentry Family Chapel by Brother Lawrence Warden. Burial followed in the Solid Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
