Money Pfafftown- Mr. William Darry Money, age 63, of Pfafftown, NC died at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center on Sunday May 20, 2012. He was in declining health for only a short time. Darry was the son of William H. and Mozell J. Money who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Violet, former spouse, Sally c. Money of Chesapeake, Va., daughter, Heather M. DeCastilla, son-in-law, Danny, grandson, Vincent Daniel "Vinny" DeCastilla all of Barco, NC, sister and brother-in-law, Wilma and Jerry Sherrill of Asheville, niece, Jill S. (Mike) Goins, grandniece, Lindsay Ann Morris both of Jamestown, NC, 2 step-daughters, Selina McKague, Christina Johnson; 6 step-granchildren, and many special cousins including Nancy M. Turnage, who sat and comforted Darry for many hours in his last Days. Darry served honorably for 26 years as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy. He retired in 1995. He was currently employed with the NC Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Solutions as a supervisor for Veterans Services in the Winston-Salem office. Those who knew Darry will tell you he was respectful of others, a conscienous worker, fun, generous to a fault, and avoided controversy at all cost. He deeply loved his family and his pride was his grandson, Vinny. He loved the game of Golf, was a terrific gardener, and he had great interest in politics. The family wishes to especially thank his niece, Lindsay Ann, who as a nurse guided and protected his health care in every way. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and nursing assistants at Wake Forest Baptist, who gave him superb care and special attention. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Mac C. Warren and Chaplain Ronnie Puckett. Burial will follow in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors by Yadkin VFW Post 10346.
