James Ratledge

East Bend Mr. James "Pete" Raymond Ratledge, 83, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Ratledge was born May 2, 1929 in Forsyth County to Paul and Elizabeth Brendle Ratledge. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War and retired from RJ Reynolds after 38 years of service. Mr. Ratledge was a member of Enon Baptist Church. Mr. Ratledge was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dorothy Davis Ratledge; two sons, Eric Ratledge and Bradley (Amanda) Ratledge; a special grandson, James Tyler Ratledge; and his closest brothers, John Lee (Myrtle) Ratledge and Robert Glenn (Bettie) Ratledge. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Enon Baptist Church Building Fund, 6321 Old Highway 421 East Bend, NC 27018.
