Laura Jane Dobbins Shore

Laura Jane Dobbins Shore passed away Thursday morning, May 31, 2012 at the Yadkin Nursing Center. Laura Jane was born to William Luther Dobbins and Laura Willams Dobbins on February 5, 1925 in Yadkin County. Laura Jane was a lifelong member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. She was a quiet person who was full of wit & a beautiful smile for everyone. She loved to play the piano. She played at church in her younger years, continued playing for her family & eventually played at the Yadkin Nursing Center where she resided for 15 years. She was a dear mom, caring Grandma and was loved by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Haston Howard Shore whom she loved with devotion. Also preceding her in death were five brothers, Walter, Austin, John Frank, Luther and Grady; four sisters, Mary Frye, Ella Sutphin, Martha Maynard & Annie Mae Byerly; two stepchildren preceded her Harrell Shore & Hazel Ruth Shore Mebane. Laura Jane is survived by her son Ronald (Lucille) Shore & stepson Jerry (Jean) Shore; three grandsons Jeff, Mike & Brian (Keri) Shore; Six step grandchildren Diane (Matt) Brady, Ken (Verna) Shore, Dean (Diane) Shore, David (Susan) Mebane, Sabrina (Dan) Lyford & Tim (San) Mebane; four great grandchildren Audrey, Annabelle, Noah & Karah Shore. A celebration of her life will take place 3:00 PM Saturday at the Gentry Family Chapel Hwy 601 in Yadkinville. The family will receive friends from 2-3 PM before the service on Saturday June 2, 2012. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. We her family, wish to extend our special thanks to her friends and "family" at the Yadkin Nursing Center and also her wonderful doctors. She loved living there and all the activities and special things that you all at the center helped her enjoy.
