David Wayne Propst

Yadkinville Mr. David "Pokey" Wayne Propst, 64, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at his home. Mr. Propst was born October 1, 1947 in Catawba County to James and Margaret Hoke Propst. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a member of First Baptist Church of Maiden. Mr. Propst was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Tanis Nichols Propst; a daughter, Donna Propst; a stepson, Thomas (Rachel) Selby II; four grandchildren, Brandon and Megan Lindsay, Thomas Selby III, and Nathan Selby; one sister, Carolyn Johnson; two brothers, Larry (Evelyn) Propst and John (Judy) Propst; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11:30 AM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville with Pastor Tommy Wright officiating and military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cranio Care Bears P.O Box 464 Mead, CO 80542.
