Polly Anna Brown

Jonesville Mrs. Polly Anna Vestal Brown, 90, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Brown was born March 6, 1922 in Yadkin County to Daniel Alexander and Daisy Martin Vestal. She was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of Yadkin County Extension Club. Mrs. Brown retired from Chatham Manufacturing with over 40 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy "Bill" Brown; and two brothers, Calvin and Bill Vestal. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Frances Emmons; two grandchildren, Paul Milton Emmons and Jeffrey Scott Emmons; one sister, Jean Bauguess; and two brothers, Bob Vestal and Sam (Lola) Vestal. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, June 24, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Fall Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Don Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center for their loving care for many years and to the staff of Mtn.
