A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Myra Bernice Stokes Brown, 76, passed away Saturday July 7, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Brown was born in Yadkin County October 22, 1935 to the late Leonard & Ola Macemore Stokes. She was retired from Indera Mills and was Pianist and Organist at Mtn. Grove United Methodist Church, and Bible Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Clayton, Hubert and Ben Stokes; two half brothers Weldon and George Swaim. Surviving are her husband of 61 years James "Jim" Floyd Brown; a daughter Sue (Tony) Collins; grandchildren Johnette (Rich) Boulter, Suzanne Hall; great grandchild Savannah Terry; a sister Magdalene (Don) Huffman; two brothers Worth (Mildred) Stokes, WG (Kay) Stokes; brother-in-law Joe (Helen) Brown; cousins Carol (Ed) Brown and Mae (James) Finney; special friend and neighbor Frieda Hall. The family will receive friends from 3-4 PM Tuesday July 10, 2012 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her Funeral will be conducted at 4:00 PM following the visitation in the Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Tim Tucker. Burial will follow at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to Johnette and Rich Boulter for giving up everything and moving in with Jim and Myra to be caregivers.
