Yadkinville Mr. Fred Dinkins, 94, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mr. Dinkins was born September 3, 1917 in Yadkin County to Acy and Myrtie Williams Dinkins. He was a member of Forbush Baptist Church where he had served as trustee and deacon. He retired from Chatham Manufacturing and also from farming. Mr. Dinkins was one of the founders and assistant fire chief of Forbush Fire Department. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dinkins was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Kelly Dinkins; one son, Charles Dinkins; and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by three children, Bobbie (Aubrey) Davis, Jerry (Theresa) Dinkins, and Peggy Muldrow; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Dinkins; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11:00AM at Forbush Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Souther officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00PM on Monday evening at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Men's Association at Forbush Baptist Church, 3917 Old Hwy 421 East Yadkinville NC 27055. The family wishes to thank the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center, Phillip Wooten, Tom Kelly, and the Forbush Baptist Men for all the love, care, and support shown to them during this difficult time.
