Angie Vestal Groce

Angie Vestal Groce, 99, passed away Thursday August 2, 2012 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Groce was born November 3, 1912 in Yadkin County to the late James & Flora Haynes Vestal. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Odell Groce, a daughter Sally Mae Groce, sisters Lillian Groce, Miner Gregory Scott, Myrtle Billings Cass, Jessie Chappell, and Gracie Collins; an infant brother Virgil Vestal. Surviving are her children Patsy Groce (Ralph) Winters, Ann (Frank - deceased) Groce Clark, David (Judy) Groce; thirteen grandchildren; one brother James Jr. (Odessa) Vestal. The family will receive friends from 1:30- 2:30 Sunday August 5, 2012 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her funeral will be conducted at 2:30 following the visitation on Sunday at the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Paul Stewart. Burial will follow at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Share a Home and the Yadkin Nursing Center for the loving care given to Mrs. Groce.
