Doris Lewis Blevins

Doris Lewis Blevins, 87, passed away Sunday August 19, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice home. Mrs. Blevins was born August 17, 1925 in Forsyth County to the late Roy & Pearl Fair Lewis. Mrs. Blevins is of the Methodist faith. She was an active member of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol Auxiliary. Throughout her life she was active in numerous civic and charitable organizations. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sidney "Sid" Donald Blevins on July 14, 2007; two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by three sisters Elizabeth Lewis, Winston-Salem; Velda (Randall) Sparger, Pfafftown; and Marlyn Lewis, Walnut Cove; several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM Tuesday August 21, 2012 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Tuesday August 21, 2012 at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Bonnie Harris.
