Buford Avalon Bruce

Bruce Yadkinville - Buford Avalon Bruce, 82, of E. Old US Hwy 421 passed away Thursday, September 06, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 29, 1929 in Yadkin County to the late John Greek Bruce and Gladys Phillips Bruce North. Mr. Bruce served in the US Army and was employed by R.J. Reynolds for 29 years in the Millwright Shop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Benton Bruce; son, David Devon Bruce; daughter-in-law, Debra Jordan Bruce. Surviving are his children, Toni (Wayne) Ladd, Barbara (Jerry) Comer, Teresa (Chuck) Choplin, Robin (Stan) Riddle; grandchildren, Jason (Melinda) Ladd, Jamie (David) Cranfill, Jonathan (Kristie) Comer, Kristen Bruce, Brooke (Dennis) Lee, Jr., Amber (Terry) Foster, Samuel (Anna) Riddle; great grandchildren, Justin Ladd, Rylee and Isaac Cranfill, Sylar Comer, and Zackary Foster. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2012 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Bill Hale and the Rev. Robin Dixon. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with military rights by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 on Monday prior to the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Memorials can be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2725 E.
