Donald Lee Souther

Hamptonville Mr. Donald Lee Souther, 72, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Mr. Souther was born June 9, 1940 in Wilkes County to Luther and Ethel Harris Souther. He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church. Mr. Souther was an avid outdoorsman, loving to hunt and farm. He was also a well-known plumber who owned his own business. In addition to his parents, Mr. Souther was preceded in death by his loving wife, Annie Lou Welborn Souther; one brother and four sisters. He is survived by two sons, Scott Souther and Bradley Souther; one sister, Ruth Vera "R.V." Shew; and four brothers, Lester (Hazeleen) Souther, Bud (Carol) Souther, J.E. (Doris Ann) Souther, and L.P. (Vertie) Souther. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, September 14, 2012 at 2:00PM at Sweet Home Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Blalock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to thank Jena Watts, Dot Wagoner, Gail Neil, and Dwight Goodin for all the love, care, and support shown to them during this difficult time.
