Mash Statesville - Carol Jean Hudler Mash, 71, went home to be with the Lord on September 10, 2012. She was born March 21, 1941 in Yadkin County and was the daughter of the late Thomas Winfield Gatton and Nora Hudspeth Gatton of Hamptonville, NC. She worked at Uniglass and Clark Swavel for 27 years, she also did volunteer work at Iredell Memorial Hospital. She was a faithful member of New Prospect Baptist Church for 40 some years. She loved the Lord. She loved working as a care giver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Hudler of 36 years of Statesville, NC; two brothers, Leo and Jerrell Gatton of Hamptonville, NC; one granddaughter, Autumn Hudler of Floyd, VA. She is survived by her husband of 16 years to Billy Bart Mash whom she married on August 10, 1996. One son, Kerry Dean Hudler (Gail) of May-Meadows, VA; one step-daughter, Nora Mash Keatley of Petersburg, VA; two grandchildren, Brandy Moss (Bob) of Centreville, VA and Sherry Lozano (Mike) of Willis, VA; one step grandchild, Melody Josey (Jeff) of Statesville, NC; four great grandchildren, Hunter and Hollie Franklin of Willis, VA, Dakota Edwards and Savannah Moss of Centreville, VA; two step great grandchildren, Brianna and Eli Josey of Statesville, NC; one brother, Bobby Gatton (Mary) of Hamptonville, NC; three sisters, Beatrice Dobbins and Bulah Childress both of Hamptonville, NC, Frances Hudler of Statesville, NC. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at New Prospect Baptist Church by the Rev. Joey Campbell. Burial will follow at Obids Baptist Church. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville.
