William Thomas Anderson

Anderson Yadkinville- Mr. William Thomas Anderson, 83, of North State Street passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born July 31, 1929 in Asheville, NC to the late Herman and Hattie Edge Anderson. Mr. Anderson attended Swanee Military Academy in Tennessee, and was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Army and earning the rank of Master Sergeant. He worked his entire life as a general superintendent for several asphalt paving contractors in the area. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, June Anderson Riddle. Surviving are his devoted wife, Margaret Mackie Anderson, of the home; his three sons, Andy Anderson and wife, Jackie of Granite Falls, NC, Mitchell Anderson and wife, Mykie of Miland, TN, Danny Anderson and wife, Toni of Lenoir, NC; 5 grandchildren, Billy (Jessica) Anderson, Beaufort, NC, Dan (Megan) Anderson, Matt Anderson, all of Lenoir, Miles Anderson, Makala Anderson, both of Miland, TN; a great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Anderson; 2 sisters, Ann Roberts, Asheville, Sudie (Pete) Wilson, Rocky Mount, NC; and also surviving are his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM Thursday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Richard Eskew. Burial will follow in the Yadkinville Cemetery.
