Fanny Brawley Sizemore

Sizemore Yadkinville - Fanny Brawley Sizemore, 73, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, October, 17, 2012 after a strong and courageous battle with both Pulmonary Fibrosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Fanny was born August 6, 1939 to Samuel and Bernice Brawley. Fanny was a courageous woman with a heart of gold full of forgiveness and generosity. As a member of Mt. Nebo Church of Christ she was a faithful Christian who loved and served God with all her heart both at church and in her community. Fanny worked at Hanes Hosiery for many years and then operated Fanny's Hairstyling until her health forced her to retire. Throughout her life she had a love for gardening and especially loved flowers and herbs. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, John F. Sizemore Jr.; two brothers Frank and Bud, and four sisters, Louise Gunter, Dorothy Cummings, Edith Woody, and Betty Agresta. She is survived by her 4 sons, Derek (Sarah) Sizemore, Cameron (Sandra) Sizemore, Sean Sizemore, Jared (Melanie) Sizemore; 7 grandchildren, Chloe, Halley, Jason, Gracie, Nikita, John Robert, and Skylar. She is also survived by two brothers, Bob and Jim, three sisters, Mildred Hoots, Peggy Joyner and Patricia Martin; special sister and brother in law, Lee and Virginia Mounce; special nieces, Melinda, Teresa, Heather, Leeann and April; and several special nephews. Her funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 by Brother Steve Johnson and Brother Lawrence Warden at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Church of Christ. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 12:00 on Saturday, prior to the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family would like to thank the staff of the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their loving guidance and care. And a very special thanks to Fanny's angels, Kawana Palmer and Christy Pinnix who provided Fanny with the love and care that enabled her to stay at her home during her last months, she truly loved you! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinivlle is serving the Sizemore family.
