Boonville Irene Nellie Sizemore-Pinnix passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at her home in Boonville, North Carolina. Irene was born October 8, 1920 in Boonville, North Carolina. She was born to Tom David Casstevens and Bessie Caudle Casstevens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Sizemore, whom she was married to for 52 years; and, her second husband, Joseph Pinnix, whom she was married to for 13 years. She was also preceded in death by Sarah Sizemore-Lawson, daughter; Thelma Gail Sizemore, daughter- in-law; and Fred Casstevens, Roy Casstevens, Charlie Casstevens, Donald Casstevens, and Ruby Oakes, brothers and sister. She is survived by three sons Tommy Sizemore, Johnny Sizemore (Linda) and Freddy (Butch) Sizemore (Nancy); 4 step-children, Brenda Sheek (Larry), David Pinnix, Wes Pinnix (Gail), and Larry Pinnix (Sherry); 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Frankie Casstevens (Marilyn), Mitchell Casstevens (Cora Lee), and George Casstevens (Ruth); and, her very special friend, Judy Campbell. Irene, best known as Granny to her family and the neighborhood children is remembered for her gentle spirit, quick wit and sense of humor. She loved God. She loved and enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren. She loved music and flat footing. Her funeral will be held on Sunday, October 21 at 3:00 at Gentry Funeral Home, Hwy 601 Yadkinville. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Friends Meeting cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, October 20 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their gentle care.
