Gloria Todd Long

Yadkinville - Gloria Adelaide Todd Long, 71, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend passed away at her home on Thursday, October 25, 2012. She was born July 24, 1941 in Forsyth County to William D. "Bill" Todd, Sr., and Louisa Shermer Todd. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Benny Long, two children, Mark Long and Gina Long Steelman. Gloria was blessed with a grandson, Hayden Steelman. She had several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother and father, William "Bill" and Louisa Todd, and sister, Peggy. Surviving are five sisters and one brother: Lou (Paul)Hutchens, Nellie (Garlon)Hall, Frieda (Fred)Pepper, Norma Johnson, Sandra (Paul) Gianini, William "Bill" (Lisa)Todd, Jr. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October, 27, 2012 at 2:00PM at Maplewood Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Lancaster and Rev. Richard Eskew officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Maplewood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maplewood Baptist Church building fund, or to Mtn. Valley Hospice. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice, especially Kathy Reece and Margie Willard, in Yadkinville, as well as Cynthia Wolfe and Lisa Wall who provided excellent service and care.
