Ethel Mae Hobson

Hobson Yadkinville- Mrs. Ethel Mae Hobson, 83, of Snider Road passed away Friday, November 2, 2012 at Yadkin Valley Community Hospital. She was born February 13, 1929 in Yadkin County to the late Thad and Lucy Sizemore Hobson. Mrs. Hobson was a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker for her family. She worked several years at Fall Creek Elementary School and was an active member of Union Grove Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She served the church in various ways including, Sunday School Teacher, Choir, Bible School, and the W.M.U.. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Clay Monroe Hobson, and a sister, Grace Marie Jester. Surviving are her children, Dianne H. Brendle and husband, David, of Elkin; Felix Monroe Hobson, and wife, Patricia, of Yadkinville; Kelly Vance Hobson, and wife, Derinda, of Aberdeen, NC; grandchildren, Natalie Roxanne Hobson, and husband, Graham Kirkham of San Diego, Ca., Nathan Elliott Hobson, San Francisco, Ca., Julian Prescott Hobson, Los Angeles, Ca., Ledena H. Dye and husband, Scott, of Aberdeen, Collin Jay Hobson, of Aberdeen; sisters, Lois (Herbert) Brendle, Sherlie (David) Reece; brothers, Sonnie (Shirley) Hobson, Ralph (Jackie) Hobson. Her funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Jack Gentry and Chaplain Hal Finney. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville.
