Mr. Robie Jackson Smyre Jr. "Bro",55, passed away peacefully and entered into eternal rest Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Elkin Healthcare. Robie was born December 26, 1956 to the late Robie and Betty Chambers Smyre. He was a 1976 graduate of Forbush High School and a former employee of Craver Furniture. Robie loved reading the newspaper, big hamburgers, fish plates from Yadkin Valley Seafood, and his family. His passing will leave a void in the hearts of all that knew and loved him. Surviving to cherish his memory are two brothers, Randy Smyre of Yadkinville Jeff (Brenda) Smyre of East Bend; three sisters, Shirley Scott and Janie Scott of Yadkinville and Annette (Kenny) Brooks of Boonville; one niece, Leah (Lemont) Pilson; three nephews, William Smyre, Harry Grinton III, and Bryan Ijames; a great nephew, Logan Pilson; a step brother, James (Phyelis) Smyre of Wilmington; and a host of extended family, friends, and loved ones. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 11:00Am at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. James Moore, Rev. Jerry Moore, and Rev. Robin Speaks officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkinville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. At other times, the family will receive friends at the Williams Street address. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Elkin Healthcare and the staff of United Hospice for all the love, care, and support shown to Robie.
