Cummings Boonville - Matthew Vance Cummings, Sr., 79, passed away Saturday, December, 8, 2012 at his home. He was born May 12, 1933 in Alleghany County to the late Melvin Alexander Cummings and Mamie Macy Cummings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Jordan; brothers, Bill Cummings, Pete Cummings. Surviving are his children, Denise (Feeto) Williams, Matthew "Vann" (Bambi) Cummings, Jr., Susan Renee Cummings, Mark (Jennifer) Cummings; grandchildren, Dana (Wayne) Glover, Samantha Ryan, Brantley Cummings, Sarah Cummings, Jessica Cummings, Kellie Navarro-Arnold; great grandchildren, David Jennings, Hunter Glover, Luke Glover; sisters, Alma (Jim) Joseph, Mary Ann (James) Overman; brothers, Howard Cummings, John (Patsy) Cummings, Melvin Cummings, Joe (Mimi) Cummings, Billy Wayne Cummings; several nieces, nephews, and other family members. His memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Dr.James Joseph. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville, which is serving the Cummings family.
