JoAnn Barker Marsh

Jonesville Mrs. JoAnn Barker Marsh, 75, passed away Monday, December 17, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Hospital. Mrs. Marsh was born May 18, 1937 in Surry County to the late Homer and Myrtle Pruitt Barker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Marsh is survived by her loving husband, Albert Sanford Marsh; two daughters, Martha (Allen) Edwards and Marlene (Kevin) Simpson; a step daughter, Nancy (Raymond) Wood; four grandchildren, Holly (Shane) Burcham, Rocky (Amanda) Edwards, Tara (Michael) Cook and Kristen Simpson; a step granddaughter, Dawn Wood; nine great grandchildren; four sisters, Nancy (Tom) Carter, Judy (Lonnie) Shelton, Carolyn (Kim) Williamson, and Margaret (Cecil) Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 2:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Jonesville with Rev. Shane Burcham officiating. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in State Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice. The family wishes to thank Dr. Reddy and the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing center and hospital for all the love, care, and support shown to them and Mrs. Marsh during this difficult time.
