Freeman Jonesville- Mrs. Ruby Florence Transou Mastin Freeman, 91, of East End Blvd. passed away peacefully Sunday December 30, 2012 at Yadkin Nursing Center. She was born December 13, 1921 in Wilkes County to the late Howard and Beutrice Burchette Transou. Mrs. Freeman was retired from Chatham Manufacturing, Chatham Country Store, Brinegar Country Cabin, and was retired from Wal-Mart as a greeter. She loved sewing, baking, cooking, and was a loving homemaker for her family and friends. Mrs. Freeman was a devoted member of Arlington First Baptist Church, as long as her health permitted, and enjoyed the time she spent Square Dancing with her husband. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Franklin O. Freeman; a sister, Willie Maxine Burchette; and a brother, Samuel Transou. Surviving are her children, Ruby Jean Cox, Eddie (Carol) Mastin, Larry (Kathy) Freeman, Libby (Louis) Shore; Grandchildren, Cherri (Earl) Dunn, Errol Mauldin, Jr., Frank (Stacy) Mauldin, Jeff Mauldin, Eugene (Jennifer) Mastin, Brian (Tracy) Ray, Michael (Sarah) Ray, Luke Shore, Jake Shore, Wendy (Steven) Mosteller, Heath (Callie) Freeman; 21 Great-Grandchildren; 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren; a sister, Clara Transou; and a brother, Herbert Transou, both of Elkin. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Wednesday at Deep Creek Friends Meeting. Her funeral service will follow the visitation 3:00 PM Wendesday at Deep Creek Friends Meeting by Rev. Georgianne Satterfield. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens in State Road. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for all the loving care given to Mrs. Freeman.
