Mary Ethel Weatherman

Weatherman Boonville - Mary Ethel Winters Weatherman, 99, passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. She was born October 27, 1913 in Yadkin County to the late Franklin Martin Winters and Laura Swaim Winters. She was the oldest member at Center United Methodist Church. Ethel also attend Boonville High School, where she was a member of the girls basketball team from 1928-1930. She retired from Duplan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cam Dawson Weatherman; sisters, Gaynell, Hattie, and Pearl; brothers, Arthur, Odell, Cletus, John, and Thad; daughter-in-law, Margaret Weatherman; son-in-law, Norman Mathis. Surviving are her children, Patty Mathis, Thad Weatherman, Peggy (David) Huffman; grandchildren, Cathy Recchio, Teresa (Mike) Mathis, Chris (Barbara) Mathis, Clark Mathis, Kent Mathis, Julia (Tim) Baity, Jennifer (Jimmy) Shoaf, Kyle Huffman; great grandchildren, India Collins, Shane Collins, Angela (Jamie) Mathis, Adam (Erica) Mathis, Hannah (Cody) Keaton, Caleb Baity, Kaitlyn Shoaf, McKenzie Shoaf, Chase Shoaf. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2012 at Center United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dr. Bonnie P. Harris, Steve Wagoner, and Cathy Recchio. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. She will lie in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall of the church. The family would like to thank Yadkin Nursing Care Center for all the love and care shown to Ethel.
