Avery Dallas Haynes

Haynes Lone Hickory - Avery Dallas "Jim" Haynes, 80, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center. He was born September 7, 1932 in Yadkin County to the late Avery Jones Haynes and Bertha Mae Renegar Haynes. He was a lifelong member of Sandy Springs Baptist Church. Avery enjoyed farming and was a charter member of Lone Hickory Volunteer Fire Department. His greatest loves were Joyce McCoy, tractors, baseball, NASCAR racing and his grandsons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Joyce McCoy Haynes that passed away January 17, 1999; sister, Laura Mae Ireland; brother, Leonard Lee Haynes. Surviving are his daughter, Lawanda (Eugene) Brown; grandsons, Dallas Eli Brown, Carter Ellis Brown; sister-in-law, Louise Pardue; brother-in-law, Ray Ireland. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Sandy Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. David Kiser, Rev. Brian Poindexter, and Rev. Howard Wagoner. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Memorials can be made to Sandy Springs Baptist Brotherhood Association, c/o Jimmy Steelman, 3024 Sandy Springs Road, Harmony, NC 28634.
