Travis Foy Dickens

East Bend Mr. Travis Foy Dickens, 30, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013. Mr. Dickens was born March 25, 1982 in Forsyth County to Michael Foy Dickens and Cathy Shelton McInville. He was all conference in baseball at Forbush High School before enlisting in the US Army, where he served the first tour in Iraq. Mr. Dickens attended Richmond Hill Baptist Church. He was a great husband, father and son. Mr. Dickens was preceded in death by his grandparents, Foy and Sarah Dickens. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Anna Marie Askea Dickens; five children, Noah, Sarah, Abigail, Chloe, and Kaden Dickens; stepmother, Janet Dickens; stepfather, Tem McInville; four brothers, Cody Dickens, Foy "Bubba" Dickens, Ted McInville, and Fisher McInville; grandparents, Harold and Carlene Lloyd; mother-in-law, Bonnie Aldridge; father-in-law, John Askea; step-sister, Taylor Hageman; and a large extended family. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, January 24, 2013 at 2:00PM at Richmond Hill Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Nick Poindexter officiating. Yadkin VFW Post will provide full military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project 4200 Morganton Road, Suite 300 Fayetteville, NC 28314.
