Dallas Grant Whitman

Whitman Pfafftown - Dallas "Gooch" Grant Whitman, 80, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 15, 1932 in Forsyth County to the late Elmer Luther Whitman and Ida Hill Whitman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Lee Edwards Whitman; sisters, Violet Whitman, Ester Whitman, Frances "Chic" Shouse; brothers, Ralph Whitman, Robert Whitman. Surviving are his brother, Billy Whitman; seven nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and other family members; friends, Jesse and Debbie Bland and family. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 24, 2013 at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jeff Hamrick. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.
