Jerry Daniel Jester

March 11, 1945 — January 26, 2013

Yadkinville- Mr. Jerry Daniel Jester, 67, of Billy Reynolds Road passed away peacefully Saturday, January 26, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 11, 1945 in Surry County to the late John and Alta Daye Jester. Mr. Jester was a great neighbor to the community, but most importantly was a loving husband, and devoted father and grandfather. He was a hardworking farmer, owner of Jerry Jesters Lawn Care, and worked for several years with Benny's Carpet and Tile. He loved going hunting, fishing, and enjoyed playing golf, basketball, and softball through the years. Mr. Jester was a member of New Bethel Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended Christian Outreach Fellowship in Yadkinville. Everyone loved Mr. Jester's quick wit for everyday occasions. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his 2 sisters, Betty Jester and Linda Williams. Surviving are his beloved wife of 43 years, Diane Tilley Jester, of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, Chad Daniel and Katrina Darlene Jester, of Orange Park, Fla.; 2 grandchildren, Andrew Daniel Jester, Aleah Darlene Jester; 3 sisters, Nadine Daye, Yadkinville; Judy (Larry) Comer, Peggy (Ricky) Moxley, all of Boonville; 3 brothers, Tony (Verina) Jester, Yadkinville; Terry (Polly) Jester, Thurmond; Jackie (Barbara) Jester, Boonville; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM Wednesday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Darrell Wykes, Rev. J.P. Sizemore, and Bob McHone. Burial will follow in New Bethel Pentecosal Holiness Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Hope Pregnancy Care, PO Box 1552, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Forsyth County, and to all of Mr. Jester's family including Pam Jester Moncus, for all the loving care and support given to them.
