Odell Hardy Grose, Sr.

Grose Yadkinville - Odell Hardy Grose, Sr., 91, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He was born December 25, 1921 in Iredell County to the late Carl Thomas Grose and Bertha Wallace Grose. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers; grandson, Kevin Williams. Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Hazel Mae Hicks Grose; children, Ralph (Lorene) Groce, Louise (Zane) Stewart, Odell H. (Susan) Grose, Jr., Linda (Tyler) Tuttle; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; brothers, Gilbert (Eva) Grose, Doyle (Hazel) Grose; many nieces and nephews. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. William Hutchins. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens with full military honors by the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Memorial can be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to thank Yadkin Nursing Care Center, Mountain Valley Hospice, Thomasville Medical Center ICU Unit, and Yadkin Valley Community Hospital for all the love and care shown to Odell.
