Austin Wayne Macemore

September 23, 1993 — January 29, 2013

Boonville- Phillipians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Mr. Austin Wayne Macemore, 19, of Country Club Road won his courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 23, 1993 in Forsyth County to Wayne and Teena Collins Macemore. Austin was a proud graduate of Starmount High School Class of 2012. He was very active with sports while at Starmount, he lettered for four years on Varsity Wrestling, and lettered three years on Varsity Soccer. In his senior year of wrestling, he was voted captain of the team, and went undefeated. In his years of soccer, he was voted All-Conference his senior year, and was voted Captain his sophomore and senior years. Austin was voted Ram of the Year at Starmount in 2012. He received the I-Dare-You Award at graduation as voted by his Senior Class and Faculty, received the Heart of a Champion Award from the State of North Carolina; and attended the S.A.S.I. (Student Athletic Summer Institute) Leadership Camp. Austin was also voted the "Most Spirited" in 2012 and will be missed as "The Blue Man" at Varsity Games and Pep Rallies. He won an English Award his Freshman Year, was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Spanish Club. Austin was currently attending Surry Community College, and was an avid Duke Fan. He was a faithful member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he was active with the Youth Group and enjoyed being called the "Honorary Youth Pastor" He was very proud to be in the Mission Field and go on several mission trips. These trips enabled him to touch the lives of several outside his home here in Yadkin County. Austin was very faithful to God and dedicated to sharing Christ with others. He loved his family, friends, and was an inspiration to all who knew him. If you knew Austin, you knew the love of Christ. Austin was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James W. "Junior " Collins and his paternal grandfather, Harold Macemore. Surviving are his beloved parents, Wayne and Teena C. Macemore, of the home; his brothers, Braedon Macemore and Colby Macemore; maternal grandparents, Fred and Jo Goins; paternal grandmother, Wanda Macemore; Aunts and Uncles, Twinkle and Roger Ireland, Tim Collins, Lynn and Michael Blackburn; several cousins, Ryan Blackburn and wife, Emily; Eric Blackburn; Natalie Morgan and husband, Cameron; Nick Poindexter and wife, Twinkle; Trace, Ethan, and Trevor Collins; and many close friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Friday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His Celebration of Life Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Union Grove Baptist Church by Rev. Kenny Gooden, Rev. Brent Winslow, Rev. Nick Poindexter, and Rev. Sterling Griggs. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church Student Ministries, 2401 Nebo Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the friends, neighbors and community for the continued love and support shown to them during Austins battle.
