Eldon Thomas Snow

Yadkinville Mr. Eldon Thomas Snow, 72, passed away Friday 1, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Snow was born June 23, 1940 in Yadkin County to William Everette and Alva Wolfe Snow. He was a member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church and was an ordained deacon in previous years. Mr. Snow loved basketball and loved to grow his award winning gourds and pumpkins. He won several blue ribbons at the Dixie Classic Fair for the longest gourds and biggest pumpkins. Mr. Snow was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Haynes Snow; five children, Jeff (June) Snow, Melinda (Eric) Hoots, Kathy (Aaron) Johnson, Scott (Jennifer) Snow, and Chris (Amy) Snow; six grandchildren, Angela Snow, Nathan (Kayla) Snow, Cody (Anna) Snow, Bethanie Snow, Brayden Snow, and Braxton Snow; and two sisters, Louise (Wayne) Ellingham and Carolyn (Bobby) Hemric. A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, February 3, 2013 at 3:00PM at South Oak Ridge Baptist Church with Dr. Phil Beavers and Rev. Brian Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to South Oak Ridge Baptist Church Impact Yadkin or to New Hope Pregnancy Center.
