Kenneth Joe Hardy

Union Grove Mr. Kenneth Joe Hardy, 63, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Gordon Hospice Home. Mr. Hardy was born December 21, 1949 in Wilkes County to Joe and Ann Eller Hardy. He was a graduate of Starmount High School and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Mr. Hardy was a veteran of the US Marine Corps, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #505. Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Ann Hardy; three sisters, Peggy (George) Maillet, Shirley (Kim) White, and Kay (Benny) Wilkins; five brothers, Larry (Terri) Hardy, Jerry Hardy, Clyde (Betty) Hardy, Jeffrey (Sheila) Hardy, and Mark (Melissa) Hardy; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, February 8, 2013 at 2:00PM at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Holbrook and Rev. Dwight Dowell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00PM Thursday evening at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to thank the staff of Gordon Hospice Home for the love, care, and support shown to Mr. Hardy and his family during this difficult time.
