Chappell Jonesville- Freeda Revon Chappell, 87, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Yadkin Nursing Center. She was born June 2, 1925 in Yadkin County to the late James Sanford "Jim" Chappell and Ella Novella Hemric Chappell. Ms Chappell lived a full life and enjoyed listening to gospel music and working outside. She was a member of Swaims Baptist Church and retired from Chatham Manufacturing in 1988 after 43 years of sevice to care for her sister. In 2004, she was involved in an auto accident that dramatically changed her life and her family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Weldon Roosevelt Chappell, Everett F. Chappell, Lonnie Clay Chappell; by 3 sisters, Lilly Bell Chappell, Ada Mae Chappell, Janie Viola Chappell Brown; sisters-in-law, Vermell Weatherman Chappell, Irene Turner Chappell; brothers-in-law, William Edgar Johnson, Dwayne Brown, and Burlie Harold Wilkins. Surviving are her 3 sisters, Pearl Louise Johnson, Hamptonville; Margaret Eloise Wilkins, Jonesville; Betty Lou Chappell, The Crest of Clemmons; sister-in-law, Elsie Lorene Wood Chappell; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville. Her funeral service will follow the visitation 2:00 PM Wednesday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Frank Casstevens. Burial will follow in the Swaims Baptist Church Cemetery.
