Beulah Parrish Howell

Yadkinville Mrs. Beulah Parrish Howell, 100, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. Mrs. Howell was born December 25, 1912 in Forsyth County to Winston Charlie and Isadora Gordon Parrish. She was a member of Grace Bible Church, where she served as organist until her retirement at age 90. She was organist for Harmony Grove Friends and Grace Bible Church for a combined 50 years. Mrs. Howell was always a very active church member. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband, Berlie Clyde Howell; two grandchildren, James A. Dobbins, Jr. and Robert Dobbins; a great grandson, Andrew Dobbins; four sisters, and four brothers. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Dobbins, Jane (Harold) Burton, and Elaine (Graham) Reece; six grandchildren, Ginger D. Gregory, Rose D. (Steve) Wood, Larry Dobbins, Amber R. Davenport, Lendy (Season) Renegar, and Caroline R. (Tim) Castelli; thirteen great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 2:00PM at Grace Bible Church with Rev. Steve Harrelson and Rev. Nelson Spaulding officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Grove Friends Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. The family wishes to thank the staff of Hugh Chatham Nursing Center and New Horizons, especially Kathy Casstevens for all the love, care, and support shown to Mrs. Howell during her illness.
