Dallas Dewitt Brown

Jonesville Mr. Dallas Dewitt Brown, 75, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Woltz Hospice Home. Mr. Brown was born September 15, 1937 in Yadkin County to Buster and Fannie Brooks Brown. He was a member of Jonesville Church of God where he loved to be at every service as long as his health allowed. He retired from Chatham Manufacturing after 30 years of service. Mr. Brown was a friend to everyone he met and enjoyed sharing the bounty from his vegetable garden with his friends and neighbors. He was always happy to lend a helping hand to anyone. Most of all, Dallas loved the Lord and leaned on his faith to take him through the tragedies in life. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shelby Clonch Brown; a daughter, Sonya Brown Winebarger; two brothers, Dan Lee Brown and Mack Harvey Brown; two sisters-in-law, Francis Money Brown and Bernice Stokes Brown; and one brother-in-law, Alex Shore. He is survived by a grandson, Jonathan Chase Wall of South Carolina; three brothers, James "Jim" Brown, Joe (Helen) Brown, both of Hamptonville and Roger (Kathy) Brown of North Wilkesboro; four sisters, Kathryn Shore of Willowbrook Nursing Center, Jane (Jerry) Wagoner, Pattie (Junior) Sebastian, and Shirley (Sam) Willard, all of Hamptonville; a sister-in-law, Margaret Brown; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 1:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel in Jonesville with Brother Ken Nelson and Brother Phillip King officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Woltz Hospice Home for the excellent care and compassion shown to Dallas and to the family during this difficult time.
