Carlton Yadkinville- Mr. Robert Larry "PaPaw" Carlton, 71, of Neelie road passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born August 26, 1941 in Yadkin County to Charlie and Maude Macemore Carlton. Mr. Carlton worked for several years with Western-Electric, retired as Public Works Director for the Town of Yadkinville; and with Max Welborn Automobiles in Yadkinville. He was a member of South Oak Ridge Baptist Church, and enjoyed going fishing at the beach. His greatest pride, love, and joy, was his family, especially his grandchildren, and the time he was able to spend with them. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Maebelle Dinkins Carlton, of the home; his daughters, Teresa Carlton, Yadkinville; Andra C. Hunter, Yadkinville; grandchildren, Bethany Hunter, Dylan Hunter, both of Yadkinville; his mother of Yadkinville, 3 sisters, Jerri Dodge, Jan Hall, Sandy (Bob) Chipman, all of Yadkinville; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will follow the visitation Sunday at 4:00 PM in the Gentry Family Chapel with Dr. Phil Beavers and Rev. Jesse Miles officiating. Burial will follow in the South Oak Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of 5th floor CICU of Forsyth Medical Center for the loving care and support given to Mr. Carlton.
