"J. C." John C. Elliott, Jr. December 19, 1946 - February 28, 2013, age 66 a long time resident of Boonville passed away Thursday at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Dade City, FL. J. C. was raised in Winston-Salem and retired from Hanes Dye and Finish. He served in the Army's 25th Infantry and was a Viet Nam disabled vet. He was a member of the Yadkin VFW Post 10346. He was preceded in death by his parents John & Edwina Edenfield Elliott and daughter Chrissy Elliott. J. C. is survived by his wife of 42 years, Christine Casstevens Elliott; his son Wesley; sister Linda (Doug) Loflin, Floral City, FL; brother Ray Elliott, Hollywood, CA; sisters-in-law Brenda Detert (John), Hampton, VA and Darlene (Larry) Crews, Boonville; brother-in-law Richard Casstevens, Jonesville; aunts Lillian and Dollie Edenfield; several nieces and nephews and special friends Paul Brown and Chris & Alice Carter. J. C. loved watching and traveling with his son to shooting tournaments, hanging out with the old guys at the Boonville BP and enjoyed his Boston Terriers, Maggie and Max. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday March 3, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday March 4, 2013 at Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Andy Lambert. Burial will follow at Boonville cemetery with full Military Honors by the VFW Post 10346. The family would like to thank the hospital's doctors and nurses in CCU & 7th Floor Reynolds for their loving care of J. C. over the past 4 years.
