Mary Lou Dobbins Shore

Shore Boonville - Mary Lou Dobbins Shore, 84, passed away at home on March 15, 2013. She was born in Winston-Salem on February 3, 1929 to the late Gwynie N. and Stella H. Dobbins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, William J. Dobbins and wife, Nancy. She was married to Henry Fleming Shore on September 4, 1948. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Richard H. Shore and wife, Patsy of Trinity, Marty S. Williams and Husband, Robert of Asheboro, David D. Shore and wife, Beryle of Durham, and W. Lee Shore of Boonville; grandchildren, Matt Williams and wife, Corie, Robert G. Burchette III and wife, Kelly, Timothy S. Burchette, and wife, Caitlin, Stephanie J. Shore, Justin C. Shore and wife, Larissa, R. Bryan Shore and wife, Anne, and Tyler F. Shore; great-grandchildren, Jack Shore and Cameron Thompson. Lou found great fulfillment in caring for her family and in her career as a caterer. She was an active worker for Boonville Baptist Church and the Boonville Public Library. Along with her husband, she enjoyed traveling, attending sporting events, and spending time with her family. Her interests included travel, cooking, knitting, reading, and playing scrabble. She devoted much of her time and energy to family, friends, and could always be counted on to provide a meal when needed. Her memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Boonville Baptist Church by the Rev. John Brown and the Rev. Ken Boaz. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boonville Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 429, Boonville, NC 27011 or one's favorite charity.
