Albert Thomas Hollingsworth, Jr.

Yadkinville Mr. Albert Thomas Hollingsworth Jr., 77, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Yadkin Valley Community Hospital. Mr. Hollingsworth was born February 13, 1936 in Beaufort County to Albert and Edna Britt Hollingsworth. He served in the US Marine Corps, 8th Marine Division, during the Korean War. Mr. Hollingsworth was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church and the Yadkin VFW Honor Guard. He was also a very talented pianist. Mr. Hollingsworth was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife, Reba Wright Hollingsworth; special K-9 companion, Dutchess; three children, Jennifer Clemmons, Mark (Fran) Hollingsworth, and Mary (John) Boles-Duplisea; six grandchildren, Beth Reynolds, Matthew Hollingsworth, Ashley Hollingsworth, Lindsay Boles, Hayden Boles, and Meredith Boles; one great grandson, Adam Clemmons; and one sister, Elaine (Jim) Moore. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, April 12, 2013 at 11:00AM at Gentry Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Jon Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Harmony Grove Friends cemetery with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin Senior Center, PO Box 1878 Yadkinville, NC 27055 or to Peace Haven Baptist Church, PO Box 382 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Mtn. Valley Hospice and Yadkin Valley Community Hospital for all the love, care, and support shown to Mr. Hollingsworth during this difficult time.
