Mr. William Hugh Bryant, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25th at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. He was born February 1, 1925 in Hickory, NC to the late Charlie and Lela Miller Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a veteran of World War II with the US Army. He was a member of Mitchell's Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Bryant was retired from Hanes Hosiery and worked throughout his life as a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Nellie Hutchens Bryant, sisters Lois Vestal, Mary Goforth, and Maxine Allen, and by his brothers Kenneth and Hubert Bryant. Surviving are his children Carol (Bobby) Southard and Jerry (Robin) Bryant of Yadkinville; grandchildren Regina (John) Allen, Bryan (Wanda) Southard, Daryl (Amber) Southard, and Brandon (Julia) Bryant; along with great grandchildren Amanda & Rebecca Stewart, Ashley, Allen, Robert, Jonathan, and Bobbi Southard, Morgan & Travis Hedrick, Matthew & Lily Bryant; great-great-granddaughter Annabella Southard; a brother Lester (Norma Jean) Bryant; sister-in-law Mae Bryant; brother-in-law Junis Allen. The family will receive friends from 2:30 - 3:30 PM Sunday April 28, 2013. The service will follow at 3:30 PM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Charles Turner and Rev. J.P. Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow at Forbush Friends Cemetery with Full Military Honors by the VFW Post 10346.
