Emanuel John Vdakakes

Emanuel (Manny) John Vdakakes, 84, went home to be with the lord on Friday may 24, 2013 at 2:02 PM at Woltz Hospice Home after a lengthy illness. He was born December 27, 1928 in New York to the late John Emanuel & Jenny SanFrantello Vdakakes. He attended Yadkin Baptist Mission as health would allow. He served in the Us Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Della Mae Degregorio Vdakakes. Surviving are his wife Henrietta Allen Vdakakes; his children Daniel (Dorothy) Vdakakes, Paul (Becky) Vdadakes, Denise Petters, and John Vdakakes; three grandchildren Chris Vdakakes, Lisa Vdakakes, and Maria Vdakakes; five great grandchildren; several step children; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1-2 Pm Sunday May 26, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral will be conducted at 2:00 Pm Sunday following the visitation at Gentry Family Chapel by Pastor Ronnie Wooten and Pastor Frank Wooten. Burial will follow at Yadkin Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors by the VFW Post 10346. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff at Woltz Hospice Home.
