Todd Yadkinville - Nancy Pauline (Polly) Shore Todd, 97, passed away Friday, May 24, 2013. She was born September 5, 1915 in Yadkin County to the late J.H.P. (Pinnix) and Turnie Allgood Shore. She graduated from Yadkinville High School in 1935. After earning a degree from Draughan Business College in Winston-Salem, she worked for the U.S. Government Civil Service in the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. from 1941-1945. In 1944, she married Ralph W. Todd. After WWII ended, Polly and Ralph returned to Winston-Salem and Ralph's job at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Polly was a bookkeeper for the City National Bank (First Union) for 27 ½ years. During her lifetime she was a member of three Baptist churches. At Deep Creek Baptist in Yadkin County, she served as assistant treasurer. She was also an active member of Ardmore Baptist Church and First Baptist (5th St) Church of Winston-Salem. She was a demitted member of two Orders of Eastern Star: Walter Kearns Chapter, Winston-Salem, where she led the Rainbow Girls, and Chapter #233 of Yadkinville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Ralph W. Todd (January 30, 1998); sisters, Bertha Lee and Annie Pearl Shore Todd; foster sister, Mildred Shore. She is survived by nieces, Sheila Todd (Ben) Thomason of Winston-Salem, Brenda Todd (Gray) Reavis of Alcoa, Tennessee and nephew, Luther Stanley (Dena) Todd, Jr. of Yadkinville. Her funeral will be conducted by Rev. Todd Thomason on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Burial will follow service at Deep Creek Baptist Cemetery.
