Yadkinville Mrs. Mildred Church Hennings, 81, went to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Yadkin Valley Community Hospital. Mrs. Hennings was born June 2, 1931 in Wilkes County to William and Lula Joines Church. She was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She served many years as a Sunday school teacher and volunteered at the Statesville Bible Institute Camp in Boone, NC. She retired from RJ Reynolds after 35 years of service. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved needle crafting, sewing, fellowship, and caring for others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Jones Hennings; three sisters, Dorothy and Virginia Church and Opal Blanton; one brother, Roy Church; and a son-in-law, Chris Quesinberry. She is survived by three children, Brenda (Dennis) Brooks, Ronald (Janet) Hennings, and Clara Quesinberry (John) Matthews; six grandchildren, Matthew and Kayla Brooks, Nathan Hennings, and Chelsea, John, and Jacob Matthews; three sisters, Pat (Bruce) Hinshaw, Velma (James) Royall, and Nancy (John) Ford, one brother, Ray Church; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Friday, May 31, 2013 at 2:30PM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Hale and Rev. Bud Wishon officiating. She will lie in state from 2:00 to 2:30. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mtn. Valley Hospice, PO Box 1267 Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all of her devoted caregivers at home along with the staffs of Mtn. Valley Hospice, Yadkin Nursing Center, and Yadkin Valley Community Hospital for all the love, care, and support shown to Mrs. Hennings during her illness.
