Joyce Brame Driver

Driver Yadkinville- Mrs. Joyce Ione Brame Driver, 77, of Lakewood Trail passed away peacefully Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mrs. Driver was born July 17, 1935 in Lake Charles, LA to the late Oddis Lee and Emma Laurie Shoptaw Brame. She was a faithful member of Yadkin Chapter of Eastern Star #233, O.E.S., an avid quilter and member of the Yadkin Quilters Guild, a former member of Harmony Grove Friends Meeting, and attended Grace Bible Church. She was retired from Lincoln National Insurance Company, and was worked with Reavis, Thomas, and Poole, Attorneys at Law. She loved her family, and enjoyed the time she was able to spend with each of them, which consisted mainly of lots of laughs and good times. On April 10, 1954 in Beaumont, Texas, she married her love, Jack T. Driver, and they lived a wonderful life until his death on July 22, 2004. In addition to her parents, and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jackie Driver Edwards; grandson, Scott H. Driver, sisters, Edith Brame Hilton, Helen Brame Castle, and her brother, Ralph C. Brame. Surviving are her children, Tammy Driver Reavis, and husband Larry; Jason Driver, all of Yadkinville; her son-in-law, Frank J. Edwards, of Sodus, NY; Grandchildren, Laurie Butler (Todd) Merriss, Easley, S.C., Anna Edwards Butler, Davis Butler, Wilson, NC, Sarah Joyce Edwards, Los Angeles, CA Lauren Reavis (Brian) Heller, Knoxville, TN, Jacob H. Driver, Elisabeth J. Driver, both of Boonville; Great-Grandchildren, Caleb Holden, Joshua Holden, Caden Merriss, Jackson Merriss, all of Easley, SC, Taylor Butler, Ryan Butler, both of Wilson, NC, Madalyn Heller, Knoxville, TN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Betty Driver; special neighbor, Helen Rosenberry; special friend, Reba Holingsworth; sister, Laurie Lee Brame Ellison, Houston, TX; brothers, James C. Brame, Sulphur, LA., Alfred K. (Ruby) Brame, Lake Charles, LA.; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, from the deep south to the foothills of North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 3:30-4:30 PM Sunday at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 4:30 PM Sunday in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Keith Kannenberg. Burial will follow in Harmony Grove Friends Church Cemetery.
