Hamptonville Mr. Lester Ray Livengood, 66, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Mr. Livengood was born October 14, 1946 in Surry County to Jesse and Laura Wilkins Livengood. He was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, Mr. Livengood was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Arthur Livengood. He is survived by his loving wife of 47years, Jeanette Miller Livengood; three children, Aaron (Tonya) Livengood, Howie Livengood, and Kori (Tim) Soots; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Jessica, and Alexis Livengood and Senden Soots; four sisters, Doris Holder, Jean (Tom) Reavis, JoAnn Renegar, and Bonnie (Dan) Hampton; two brothers, Jesse (Louise) Livengood and Donnie (Pam) Livengood; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 2:00PM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. David Kiser officiating. Burial will follow at Hanes Grove United Methodist Church with full military honors provided by Yadkin VFW Post 10346. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105 Danvers, MA 01923. The family wishes to thank Donnie and Pam Livengood and Doris Holder for their continued love, care, and support for Mr. Livengood and the family. Also, to the staff of Forsyth Medical Center Cardiac ICU and Dr. Zsuzsanna McMahan from Johns Hopkins Medical Center for all the special care given to Mr. Livengood during his illness.
