Sylvia White Lasky

Lasky Elkin - Sylvia E. White Lasky, 87, formerly of Claremont, NH, and Portsmouth, VA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, June 2, 2013, at her home at Parkwood Place in Elkin, NC. She was born in Claremont, NH, on November 19, 1925, the first daughter of Herbert E. and Evelyn Beattie White. In addition to her parents, her husband, Peter A. Lasky, Sr. predeceased her. She is survived by her sons, Richard H. Lasky (Bonnie), Robert A. Lasky (Deborah), and Peter A. Lasky, Jr.; her grandsons, TSgt. Nicholas A. Lasky (Kathryn) and Alexander M. Lasky; great grandson, Ethan Lasky; her sister, Marjorie Dent; and several nieces and nephews. Although she lived in Elkin for only a short time, she loved her new friends and especially enjoyed playing bingo and participating in the book club. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013, in the chapel at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville with the Rev. Marion Swann officiating accompanied by Rev. Jenny Stewart. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
