Mary Sutphin Hutchens

Yadkinville Ms. Mary Ellen Sutphin Hutchens, 72, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Yadkin Nursing Center. Mrs. Hutchens was born February 11, 1941 in Yadkin County to the late Willie and Violet Dalton Sutphin. She was a member of Courtney Baptist Church. Ms. Hutchens was an avid UNC Tarheel fan and was very active at Yadkin Nursing Center. Ms. Hutchens is survived by her son, Michael Lee Hutchens; a sister, Jane (Billy) Mundy; two nieces, Christi (Anthony) Whitaker and Angel Mundy; two great nephews, Payton and Caleb Foster; and a special cousin, Judy Harrell. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 2:00PM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. Allen Barker, Rev. Scott Welch, and Mike Hawks officiating. Burial will follow at Courtney Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Gentry Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Yadkin Nursing Center, Activities Department, 903 West Main Street Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to thank the staff of Yadkin Nursing Center for their 19 years of love, care, and support shown to Ms. Hutchens.
