Pendry Boonville- Mr. Ernest Pendry, 87, of Lime Rock Road passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at his home. He was born January 9, 1926 in Yadkin County to the late James Montgomery and Martha Lovenia Williard. Mr. Pendry was a loving, devoted, husband, father, and grandfather to his family. He was a faithful member of Richmond Hill Baptist Church, spent his life working as a dairy and tobacco farmer, and enjoyed going rabbit hunting or fishing when he was able. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Bryan Newsome, Aaron Pendry and by his 9 brothers and sisters, Paul Pendry, Joe Pendry, Minnie Pendry Matthews, Levie Pendry Reece, Clint Pendry, Dessie Pendry Sainz, Howard Pendry, Ruby Pendry Mathis, and Nell Pendry Caudle. Surviving are his beloved wife of 65 years, Elise Fleming Pendry, of the home; his children, Ronnie (Lisa) Pendry, Boonville, Danny Pendry, Boonville, Sara (Barney) Newsome, Tobaccoville, Cynthia (Brady) Hopkins, Roaring River, Richard (Rebecca) Pendry, Boonville; grandchildren, Angie (Brad) Perry, Lovenia Newsome, Jessica Pendry, Ethan Pendry, Noah Pendry, Hannah Pendry, Blevin Hopkins, Byron Hopkins, Jace Pendry, Autumn Elise Pendry; 2 great-grandchildren, Bailee Newsome, Corbin Perry; his sister, Fern Marie Pendry (Moir) Hunter; and a brother, Benny Lee (Rachel) Pendry. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Monday July 1, 2013 at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. His funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Richmond Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Dan Merritt and Rev. Will Hamrick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Richmond Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center, 2205 Richmond Hill Church Road, Boonville, NC 27011 or to Hospice of Forsyth County. The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of Forsyth County and to special friends, Lois Cornielius and Cathy Sparks, for all the loving care and support given to the family.
