Julius Monroe Reece, Sr.

Yadkinville Mr. Julius Monroe Reece, Sr., 82, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at his home. Mr. Reece was born February 9, 1931 in Yadkin County to William Henry and Lethia Hutchins Reece. He was a member of Northwood Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reece was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucy Mae Caudle Reece; and two brothers, Calvin and Genie Reece. He is survived by four children, Charlene (Fred) Taylor, Junior (Bonnie) Reece, Leroy (Dale) Reece, and Shirley (Bobby) Colbert; five grandchildren, Kenny (Tammy) Winfrey, Nathan Reece, April (Sean) Lowe, Carlos (Stephanie) Mejia, and Kayla Mejia; three great grandchildren, Brooke and Landon Winfrey and Liam Lowe; four sisters, Violet (HC) Stanley, Eva Jones, Peggy (Claude Gray) Wiseman, and Betty (Roy) Caudle; two brothers, RV (Betty) Reece, and Larry (Karen) Reece; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11:00AM at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Brother Don Collins and Brother Lawrence Warden officiating. Burial will follow at Deep Creek Friends Meeting cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00PM at Gentry Funeral Service in Yadkinville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Deep Creek Friends Meeting Cemetery Fund, 1140 Deep Creek Church Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to special neighbors, Lee and Virginia Ann Mounce and the guys at Matthews Garage and Brendle's Store for always looking after Mr. Reece.
